3. Enlightenment.com interviews Bill Harris...

Some time back, we told you about a CD interview done by
Enlightenment.com with noted transformational author and philosopher
Ken Wilber. Many of you took my advice to get the CDs of that
interview, and the feedback we receive was overwhelmingly positive.

Now, Enlightenment.com has produced a second interview with a noted
personal growth leader: me! (Blush)

Several months ago, I spent a very stimulating day with
Enlightenment.com's Jordan Gruber. The result was a delightful and
wide-ranging discussion about a whole range of topics of particular
interest to anyone wanting to improve their life, increase their
conscious awareness, and move toward happiness and
self-realization--and all of it was captured on tape, just as it
happened.

Jordan is one of THE sharpest and best interviewers around. I was
impressed at how he interacted with Ken Wilber when he interviewed
Ken, and what he was able to pull out of Ken's mind. When we spoke,
he did the same with me, bringing up some very challenging and
intriguing subjects that made me really think. I think you'll find
this interview to be very different from anything you've ever heard
From me.

If you're interested in owning a 2-CD copy of this interview (and I
know you are), titled "A Sound Awakening," click here for more
information...to hear a few sample cuts from the interview...and to
order a set for your very own
By the way, neither Centerpointe--nor I--receive anything other than
personal satisfaction from sales of this CD set.

4. VERY IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT:

Here's how to find out EXACTLY how you're creating the internal and
external results you're getting in your life--and learn,
step-by-step, how to get the results you do want...

The online version of The Life Principle's Integration Process
telecourse I've been teaching is finally ready, and I want to make a
very special offer to you to participate.

Here's what it's all about...

As many of you know, about twelve weeks ago we started an extensive
series of teleconference calls, in which I'm teaching three courses
of 12 calls each, called The Life Principles Integration Process.
Over 900 people signed up for these calls, and the feedback I'm
getting has been incredible--beyond my wildest dreams. People are
experiencing huge positive changes, and the calls have been a ton of
fun.

As a result, we've decided to make these calls--plus extensive
written notes, several very revealing self-tests, access to me via
email for any questions--and several other things I won't describe
here--available in an on-line form to anyone who, for one reason or
another, didn't sign up for the live calls.

You can take the courses on your computer, either by listening via
audio-streaming, by downloading the calls to listen to later on your
computer, or by burning the lessons onto a CD to listen to anywhere.

As in the live calls, I am available by email to answer any questions
you have about anything during the course.

In these calls, we're digging very deeply into the exact, specific
reasons why and how you may be unconsciously creating results in your
life, both internally and externally, that you do not want--and how
you can create EXACTLY what you DO want. (Yes, Virginia, it is
possible.)

I hope you'll participate, since this is one of the most effective
things I've ever offered. You do not need to already be a participant
in The Holosync Solution to take these courses, by the way.

Here's what people are saying about the course:

"Again, Bill, I cannot overstate how impressed I am with your
commitment to all of us getting this material. Everything is so well
organized...from the actual call to the notes and the download
information. I really want to get my life in order and I'm most
appreciative of your generosity and assistance. The programs that you
create are unbelievably effective. I've just started the third level
of awakening and am finding it to be wonderful. If I can resolve
these value conflicts and remove the source of some of these other
value issues, I'll really start to fly.

Thank you again.
Maggie C."

"In the words of Tina Turner:
"You're simply the best... better than all the rest",
Toni"

"Great! Thanks for your fast reply Bill. By the way, I would like to
compliment you on your extraordinary organizing and presentation
abilities. I love the way you have streamlined this. The whole course
is impeccable.
Barbara"

"Dear Bill,

I am feeling so much better about myself. Even though I had a
tremendous shift when you first led us through the time line process,
I did it a few more times to pick up more learnings and dispel some
residual feelings. It worked.

I then decided to listen to the Extra Call you'd posted. Being
primarily auditory/auditory digital I couldn't resist! What a great
learning experience this call provides. Particularly insightful for
me was your reference to self-doubt. I recognize that this is my last
bastion, the one I was unwilling to drop. In that moment I remembered
something a wise old Jesuit said to me over twenty years ago:

"The last bastion we give to God is self-doubt."

Bill, thanks for the memory.

I'm excited about changing my life. This stuff works and it is a very
big deal for me. I'm very glad I signed up for the series.

Also, thanks for emphasizing how the unconscious always has our very
best interests at heart. This is such a comfort.

Sincerely,
Veronica"

*

I'd love to get a similar email from you in a few weeks!

Next week I'm giving a free preview call, where you can listen to me
describe the course, what you'll get, and all the particulars. I'm
also going to offer a special discounted price during this call.

If you're even slightly interested in participating in what I think
is the most in-depth (and valuable) teaching I've ever done, click
here for more information:

Be well.

9. Improve Your Relationship
by Kathlyn and Gay Hendricks, creators of ATTRACTING GENUINE LOVE

RELATIONSHIP QUESTION OF THE MONTH:

QUESTION:
I have been told I am over the hill because I am more than half way
past the big 50, although I have also been told I look like I am in
my early 40s, late 30s. I do not smoke, drink or do drugs, or engage
in illicit sexual activity. I am an old-fashioned girl in an era
where my kind has to take a back seat. I am very lonely and
despondent because I cannot seem to find an intelligent man to talk
to let alone get serious and become engaged. Is it wrong for me to
not give sex freely since I was told, I cannot get pregnant anyway,
so what is the big deal. I would appreciate your comments. Thank you.

ANSWER:
Toby,
I do not know if you have explored our online course Attracting
Genuine Love, but if you have not, I encourage you to make your way
through the course. The issues you address in your inquiry are all
covered in the lessons in a way that allows you to learn at your own
pace and in a whole-body learning style. The heart of the course is
our conviction that in order to attract the love you want you must
first fully love yourself. I hear you surfacing some issues that
everyone shares in their own way: loneliness, insecurity about being
attractive, confusion about principles in the shifting values of our
culture. Take a moment and love yourself for feeling just the way you
feel, and take a few breaths as you dream up what you really want.

RELATIONSHIP TIPS:

WHAT HAPPENS WHEN YOU GET CLOSE TO SOMEONE

When you get close to someone, eventually two things will happen,
often simultaneously. On your part, feelings and old patterns emerge.
For example, the closeness brings up fear or anger, along with an old
pattern of withdrawing into yourself when you are immersed in
feelings. All of us have feelings and patterns. It is how we deal
with them that makes us different from one another.

The other persons feelings and patterns also emerge. Think of you
and another person standing in the light of the sun. You have
yourselves, and you have the two shadows cast where each of you has
blocked the light. There is the relationship between the two of you
as real people, and there is the relationship between the two
shadows. The shadow part of you is the place where you hide all of
your old patterns and feelings.

You come into a relationship bringing a shadow with you, as does the
other person. If you and the other person do not look into what these
shadows contain, your relationship will be between two shadows
instead of the two of you as real people.

At the moment when the old patterns kick into gear, you have only a
brief moment to take effective action. If you let it slide, it slides
back into the shadow, into co-dependence.

Exactly what is this effective action? It is so simple, so powerful,
and so profound, that there is a centuries-old conspiracy against it.
The only effective action is to see and say the truth. Does that
sound easy? It is, but only once you have the courage to do it a few
hundred times. We have the tendency to pretend not to see and to
swallow the truth. Seeing and saying the no-blame truth will set you
free in your relationships.

10. This Issue's Feature Article:

Beginner's Mind?
by Bill Harris, Director

I've been writing so much lately about the mind and how it works and
how you can use it to create what you want, that I thought I would
share some thoughts this time about more spiritual matters, and about
some things that are beyond the mind and what it creates.

It occurs to me that people interested in spiritual growth in the
West are so darned well-educated when it comes to spiritual matters.
The average person who comes to Centerpointe has probably read dozens
of books about spiritual growth, meditation, and other related
subjects, and many have been a part of at least one spiritual group.

I sometimes wish they hadn't.

Not that there aren't a lot of great books out there, and a lot of
good spiritual
groups. We review some of our favorite books in this newsletter, and I've
personally been part of several different spiritual communities and
learned from many different teachers over the last 30+ years.

The problem, however, is that people often miss what the book or teacher is
saying and only get part of the message (often just the part they want to
acknowledge at the time). Plus, a lot of books and teachers contradict each
other. And, a certain amount of the books and groups out there are,
quite frankly, written by or run by nuts, idiots, or charlatans--or
by well meaning people who are misinformed. This unfortunately means
a lot of people have a mish-mash of information, some of which is
baloney, on subjects
such as meditation, the growth process, and "enlightenment." When
they come to us, they use this information to evaluate their
experience in The Holosync Solution program, often causing
frustration--both for them and for us!

I'd like to discuss here a few of the assumptions I hear over and
over which many people have and which, I believe, hold them back in
their growth. Of course, everything I say is true. I'm sure you know
by now I have the last word on everything. ;) (That's a wink for
those of you who just took your computer out of the box.)

First, if all the people who think meditation means your mind stops
and becomes empty and silent were laid end to end, they would stretch
From here to the ninth bardo. For some reason Westerners have gotten
the impression that if their mind is creating thoughts they're "not
doing it right."

Not so. The entire purpose of the mind is to generate thoughts, and
your going to always (I hope) have them. Yes, meditation does quiet
the mind and there ARE times where the mind stops. These moments are
timeless in one sense, but in a real world sense may only last for
moments. As your awareness deepens through meditation work, you begin
to be more and more aware of the space between your thoughts and less
caught up in your thoughts. You become the watcher of yourself (and
everything else) and that makes it SEEM as if your mind is much
quieter.

Eventually, you get to the point where you use your mind when you
need it for something, and it is pretty much quiet the rest of the
time. In other words, you are in charge of your mind, instead of your
mind being in charge of you.

But until that happens for you, what, then, are thoughts in
meditation and why do they happen?

Maharishi Mahesh Yogi, the founder of the Transcendental Meditation
Movement, has a great way of explaining this. When a person meditates
and the brain wave patterns slow into those of deep meditation, the
meditator reaches levels of the nervous system where many stresses
are held. As the meditative state dislodges these stresses so they
may be released, they bubble to the surface of the conscious mind. As
they break the surface of your awareness, they may take the form of
random thoughts--though there are many other ways they can manifest,
such as inner sounds, seeing flashes of light, body twitches, and
others. The content of these thoughts, by the way, are almost always
totally unrelated to the stresses from which they originate.

So a meditation where there are a lot of thoughts is not a failed
meditation. It
is, rather, a meditation in which a lot of stresses are released.

Really only two things can happen in meditation. The meditator
transcends thought and has a timeless moment, or he is busy
dislodging those pesky stresses in the nervous system. The only
mistake you can make is to get involved in your thoughts and not do
your technique when you catch yourself wrapped up in your thoughts
(and you don't even need to worry about that with Holosync, since
there is no technique to do--the technology "meditates you").

This is one reason why I continually tell people to let whatever
happens be okay (including having a busy mind during meditation).
People, however, think must really I mean let whatever happens be
okay unless they don't like it or unless it contradicts what they
read in a book!

Another misconception I hear a lot concerns the nature of enlightenment.
Enlightenment does not mean a loss of desire to be in the world or to
have goals or to laugh or cry or get angry or be sad or be attracted
by the opposite sex (or whatever). These are all normal human
feelings and urges and have nothing to do with your level of
awareness of who you really are.

It also doesn't mean you become a hermit or necessarily more religious or ever
more "spiritual" or that everything you do is "right" or that you know things
other people don't know or that you have amazing powers.

In my opinion, there are two things that describe the real essence of
what people refer to as enlightenment. First, it is a state of not
being attached to outcomes, which means you do not suffer when "what
is" is different than you thought it would or should be. This does
not mean you cannot desire an outcome in a given situation--it means
you are not attached to the outcome. A big difference.

Being attached means if the outcome is different than what you want,
you suffer Being non-attached means if the outcome is different than
you wanted you feel fine anyway. This means you have changed your
attachments, the outcomes you are addicted to, to preferences. You
prefer a certain outcome, but your ability to be happy and peaceful
inside is not related to the outcome.

Let me be really clear, Someone who is enlightened still has
problems. He or she may get sick (many enlightened masters have died
of cancer, heart attacks, and so on). He may get angry or sad. He may
like certain people more than others. He is still human, with all the
range of human experience--except the suffering part, because he is
not attached to the outcome in any given situation.

So those of you who are looking for a life with no problems, you're
on the wrong planet. As Tom Hanks (I know, he's not enlightened) said
to a fan who asked him what it was like to be on the top of the heap,
"Lady, no matter where you are on the heap, it's one thing after
another." You will always have problems. The telephone company will
overcharge you. The toilet will overflow. You will bump your head on
the cupboard. Your stock will go down. The bread will grow mold.
Things you love will end. Things you wanted will not be yours. People
you love will die. You will die. That's life.

The difference is in how you handle these things. Will you choose to
do what you can but ultimately, when you've done what you can to just
watch and let it be okay? Or will you put yourself through a lot of
suffering?

So what's the solution here? What's the deciding factor? I think it
is awareness. The more you are aware of what is happening, the more
you are able to step back and watch from another perspective, a
higher spot on the mountain, so to speak, the more you will be
reluctant to put yourself through unnecessary suffering. The more you
are caught up in what is happening, the more likely you are to run
your suffering programs. It's a decision you make, but one you
probably will not make until you have to awareness to see what's
happening.

This awareness creates the second thing that characterizes
enlightenment: the ability to stand aside from the creations of your
mind, and realize that you are not these things. Ultimately, you are
not your body, your thoughts, your emotions, or even the thought of
"I am." There is something in you that can experience your body as
object, with what is watching as subject. That same part of you can
experience your feelings and emotions as object. The same could be
said of your thoughts, and even of the thought of "I am." Something,
the real you, can watch all these things. There is a background
"something" on which everything else rests, a background that makes
the foreground possible, like the page must exist before the print
can appear. The mind, and all it creates, is the foreground. What
underlies it, the nothingness out of which the everything arises,
the background, is who you really are.

As conscious awareness increases, a seeker more and more perceives
the creations of the mind as "not me." These things happen, and they
change, but behind them is something unchangeable, and this, the
mystics say, is who you really are. Buddhists have a saying "That
which changes is not real; that which is real does not change." When
established in this awareness, all the things of life still happen,
and we can still live them to the hilt, but they do grab us in a way
that disturbs our inner peace, or our awareness of being more than
just a mind housed in a bag of skin.

That's where the Centerpointe program comes in, because the program,
when all is said and done, increases your conscious awareness,
expands your conscious awareness. It takes you to the place where you
watch without being caught up in whatever is happening. All the other
benefits people report: happiness, peace, a clearer mind, healing of
emotional traumas, overcoming depression, anger, anxiety, lower
stress, and so on--are all the product of having more awareness.
People with deep conscious awareness just can't suffer in response
whatever is happening to them, because they now can see what a stupid
waste it is to do so. They're now from a different perspective, one
in which they can see what is permanent and real, and what is
changeable and unreal.

I urge you to consider these assumptions about spiritual matters.
Maybe I'm full of it, and your approach is better. But give it some
thought.

Be well.

Bill Harris, Director

13. Glowing Testimonials and Letters

Here's a letter I was sent a copy of, from a Holosync Solution
participant to the New York Times Magazine:

Dear NYT:

This article in today's magazine section is interesting but
also incomplete.

Any future article on meditation and the study of the states
of the brain as a result of meditation should include Centerpointe's
holosync technology. <> www.centerpointe.com

Bill Harris has developed the most important revolution in
history with his product. Of course this is my earnest opinion only
but in the article Mr. Hall writes: I could tell i was less
irritable. I had more capacity to take on more stressors. My wife
felt I was easier to be around. So there were tangible impacts. For
an empiricist, that was enough. (next to last paragraph of the
article)

I have meditated for 30+ years. Started with the very best in
America in the 1960s, Self Realization Fellowship. Parahamsa
Yogananda started it all in America back in the 1950s. Everyone who
is interested in meditation has read Autobiography of a Yogi. His
lessons were a true foundation for meditation.

But, after 30+ years of meditation, I still was not at the
level I envisioned. Bill Harris developed holosync technology.
Thanks to an advertisement by Learning Strategies, I decided to call
CRI (Centerpointe Research Institute). ALL of the life changes i
thought were out of reach were reachable by just listening to
holosync an hour a day.

I had quite a prejudice towards the Western impatience and
need for quick fixes. Anyone who has lived in India and gone that
route will understand what i'm saying here. America is the quick fix
nation for the rest of the world. My prejudice is no longer
there!!! After 30+ years of meditation, I was only able to reach the
level of Awakening level 4. I knew it immediately too.

My life has dramatically changed as a result of listening to
holosync daily for the last 5 years. I'm just an ordinary person.
But after reading all the wonderful things possible for people who
are supposedly enlightened, I had hoped for some of those abilities
myself. Well, i have them now thanks to holosync.

So to not include the holosync technology by Bill Harris is a
serious flaw in any research on modern Western meditation studies.
Maybe it's still too new. I know the first people to finish the 10
full year program did so in 1996. I know because i received the 10
year anniversary special. I also know that if i stopped today, i
have received my full money's worth. I am presently listening to
Purification level 1.

If you want to take your magazine section's research to a new
level with regard to Western meditation, then get in touch with Bill
Harris. We do not need to take direction only from Buddhists who
have meditated for a number of years. You can speak directly to
people like me and be fully amazed at what CRI's holosync has done
for my life, hopes and vision. It's nothing short of miraculous. I
have been so naturally quiet that birds will come and sit on my legs!
Wide awake quiet of that deep level without even trying. St. Francis
of Assisi: eat your heart out :-))

Dear Bill,

I don't think I have ever received so much value for my dollar in my
entire life (55 years). The Holosync soundtracks are great all by
themselves but all the support material you send--FREE OF CHARGE--
just blows me away.

Just when I start to have some concerns--I get some literature from
you, or I read something in the Mind Chatter archives on the website
that alleviates those concerns, And thank you so much for the bonus
CDs; unbelievable!

Can't say it enough...THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANKYOU!

By the way, I am just two weeks into Awakening Prologue and I do read
everything you send.

Sincerely,

Diedra D.

RE: My article in the last issue about possibility:

Hi Bill,

I just received the interim mindchatter and liked your article
although I understand and know what you say from experience, making
the differentiations, allowing myself to make mistakes and do stupid
things sometimes, gotta be human after all...., and am now taking the
time to do that which will take me to where I want to be in life, on
an internal level as well as external. Focused on quality rather
than quantity.

Regarding the following from your next article (of which I can't wait to read.)

"In the third of the three courses making up the Life Principles
Integration Process, we're going to talk about the specifics of how
to make the things you want to create in your life--the dreams you
have--actually happen. To do that, though, you've got to be open to
possibilities so you'll HAVE some dreams."

Truth is, most people just don't know how to go from unsuccessful
dreamer to successful achiever and need many road maps, cheerleading
sessions for the self doubts, (it is so hard to go against the grain
of one's inner demons called programs) or at least suggestions as to
the steps.

If you can actually pull this one off, and I think you can - you seem
to be very directed, open and well focused, then you will certainly
be doing a most powerful good deed. That in itself is subject for
another book, a very thick one filled with lessons, anecdotes,
personal experiences of those large and small peoples who made their
lives bigger instead of smaller. And above all, along the way, the
how to's of making it all work.... I would buy it, but then, you'd
give one to me for giving you the idea...

Plus, there will be no excuse as to "why I didn't have the tools to
make my life work in a more positive way..." I would certainly like
to hear your take, having gone through this very thing some time ago.
I am one who believes in possibility and potential and can make the
differentiations necessary to make my life not only work, but work in
the ways in which I want it to work. (It took me years to figure
that one out, and I still stumble around when I'm in new territory,
though I don't try to move away from the new but the old...)

You are awesome. More so now that I know you are a real person who
does indeed listen and not preach. I am also one who is real and
well grounded, focused on the imaginative and possible while being
part of a grounded and well lived life. It is nice to know someone
who is intelligent and articulate. If you lived on this coast, we
could be great friends! Actually, we already are!

And, when you think of me, I will be your smile!!!

Tina

Hi Bill,

Wanted to thank you for an "over the top" interim newsletter...If
this is the interim one, I can't wait till the full one.

I've been enthralled with the notion of 'creating reality' for a
number of years...Seems as though lately, I'm being given so many
gifts like your ideas....Recently found Mike Dooley who does
wonderful work in this arena...

A colleague and I have designed a program called SmartChics which
essentially unwinds the erroneous learning process we've all been
initiated into..We did our doctoral dissertations on this and have
merged the research....Would love to collaborate.....Seems as though
the notion of nanocorps is here and you do it so magnificently.

Would love to talk sometime...

Thanks again for the big smile you've imparted!

Bill

I'm on Awakening level 2 (.50) right now and the results I've seen
over the year+ are truly jaw-dropping. I'm starting to get glimpses
of what is to come. In other words, I am starting to automatically
catch myself in emotional reactions to external stimuli and
neutralize them just by noticing them (automatically catching myself).

I've realized things were happening ever since I started listening,
but I guess as these small changes (progress) added up, it became
more apparent that a more dramatic change was occurring. I get
moments of clarity that are not fleeting, they stay. One day, for
whatever reason, I was able to look at my condition and position in
life in a completely different way. It was like being lifted out of
hole of circuitous thinking, I mean totally different perspectives
and interpretations.

Thanks to the card (read nights and mornings) that you sent along
with your Belief Builder [a new Centerpointe product, part of our
Life Principles Integration Process], I've actually created many
other cards that I read daily. I must have read/listened to versions
of Napoleon Hill's, "Think and Grow Rich", "You're Right To Be Rich",
etc at least 50 times and I still hadn't taken his advice to write
down my definite major purpose and major goals and read them
everyday. Changing habits can be a maddening endeavor. For example,
why is it that we just keep doing the thing we don't want to day in
and day out? The days turn to months and the months turn to years,
truly amazing. I realize there are many reasons why: pain/pleasure,
motivation strategies, beliefs, values, etc). Anyway, there's no
doubt holosync is helping me to move in the right direction, use what
I know, give me new insights, break bad habits, create empowering
habits and take positive action in all areas of my life. I'm
excitedly looking forward to continuous improvement.

Peace

Joe

The Sedona Method
Your Key to Lasting Happiness, Success,
Peace and Emotional Well-Being

What does the idea of "inner peace" really mean? Is it a reality? Can
we really be at peace inside ourselves when the world outside seems
to be spinning out of control? If you're familiar with the Sedona
Method, you know the answer to these questions is "yes."

This month it's my pleasure to review a book I've been awaiting since
I was first introduced to Hale Dwoskin and the Sedona Method. For
nearly thirty years, the Sedona Method has been assisting people to
find their inner emotional balance, and release unresourceful
thoughts and feelings. The ability of this powerful method to free
its users to live more empowered lives has become a worldwide
phenomenon. And now, Hale Dwoskin, CEO of Sedona Training Associates
has produced a book that delves into this amazingly simple,
effective, proven tool called The Sedona Method.

Let me mention that Centerpointe and Sedona have had a wonderful
relationship over the years. We do endorse a number of programs, and
From my perspective, none are more effective or compatible with the
Centerpointe program than the Sedona Method.

The Sedona Method was originally inspired by Lester Levenson, and
Hale has done a marvelous job of carrying forward Lester's work
tremendous work, and also expanding and refining it to become even
more powerful and relevant to us today.

A lot could be said of the Sedona Method, but for me, the most
powerful aspects of the Sedona Method are its simplicity and
applicability. This is an important feature of the Sedona Method,
since it is, after all, a release technique. And stressful situations
can trigger our unresolved mental and emotional issues at any time of
day. So the real power of the Sedona Method is that it can be used
anytime, anywhere, by anyone. Hale artfully explains the specifics of
the Method, and then describes how it can be used in virtually any
situation, from the simplest of common daily annoyances, to traumatic
life-altering events. Hale shows that the degree to which we can
effectively release our limiting thoughts and beliefs is directly
related to our sense of peace and happiness within.

Most "release-style" techniques seem to focus on what the feeling is
"about." They tend to talk "around" and "about" the feeling, but
never really make direct contact with the feeling itself. This simply
makes the problematic feelings harder to deal with, since you first
have to go through a kind of analysis of the feeling before you can
get around to letting it go.

The Sedona Method is different. It works directly on the level of the
feeling itself, and allows us to feel empowered to make choices about
how to manage the feeling. It creates a shift from resistance to
acceptance, and moves us out of feeling victimized by thoughts and
feelings we may not have even known were coming from within us.

One of my favorite portions of the book is about "hootlessness."

"When you set a goal and use releasing to achieve it, you bring up
into your awareness the attachments and aversions that you have about
that particular issue. Then, as you release your attachments and
aversions to the goal, you'll either achieve it or you won't. But,
either way, you'll have lightened your load of suffering. You'll
become free. The way results are achieved is by reaching an internal
feeling state that Lester called 'hootlessness.' Hootlessness is when
you do not give a hoot whether you achieve a particular goal or not.
Contrary to popular belief, you do not attain your goals when you
desire them strongly enough. In fact, if you honestly examine your
past experiences, you'll discover that most of the goals you've
achieved are the ones that you let go of wanting--even if not by
choice. Most people focus on the struggle that leads up to the
letting go and then attribute their results to the struggle rather
than the release. They miss the point."

Hale goes on to explain that hootlessness doesn't mean we stop taking
action toward our goals, but that the actions we take will come with
less drama and effort. (Hmmm...sounds like Bill.)

In addition to hootlessness, and other terrific concepts, there are
also many exercises, case studies, and testimonials throughout the
book, to help the reader personalize the uses of the Method to their
own lives.

From Chapter 3: Your Roadmap to Emotional Freedom:

"Freedom, or imperturbability, is the ultimate goal of the Sedona
Method--the freedom to choose to have, be, or do or to not have, be,
or do anything and everything. This is the natural state of being
when we cannot be disturbed any longer by what happens in our lives.
Your freedom is already here and now, resting just beneath the
surface of your emotions, and, as you master releasing, you'll
eventually uncover it within. Then nothing and no one can perturb
you."

Centerpointe Participants will notice the connection here between the
idea of imperturbability and the raising of the stress threshold
produced by Holosync.

Alan Cohen called this book "a manual for awakening," and I think
it's an apt description. Specifically, the gift of the Sedona Method
is the gift to awaken from the darkness of our own limiting thoughts
and feelings. Imagine for a moment what your day may feel like if you
lived it with complete freedom from the effects of stress, and the
limiting thoughts and feelings it can trigger. The Sedona Method is
one of the few truly effective tools for making that image a reality.

This book is a must for any Centerpointe Participant, and certainly
appropriate for anyone who seeks to live a more centered, peaceful,
successful life. Therapists, managers, parents, and coaches will find
the Sedona Method particularly powerful as a means of assisting
themselves and others to experience a greater degree of joy and
happiness in their lives.

You do not need to be a program participant to attend (though most
people who attend are). (And if you're not a program participant, why
the heck aren't you? Quit procrastinating and join.)

Here's what one recent retreat participant wrote to me:

*

Hi Bill!

Thanks for the follow up and for a fabulous retreat experience. I
felt as though I withdrew a bit the last day or so which makes me a
little sad but I think perhaps I was processing lots at that point.

Not to worry about the [problem I came to the retreat with]--I have
absolutely no desire to go back there. And thanks so much for sharing
with me your experience with it. May I turn myself around to do
things even half as awesome as you have.

It is still somewhat amazing to me how completely the desire has left
me [to continue to have the problem I came with]. The timeline
exercise at the retreat seemed too simple and though I let my
unconscious do the work, my conscious mind was having a bit of
trouble believing that anything had really happened since it wasn't
aware of much of the specifics. But I am repeatedly delighted to find
myself not tempted, not thinking about it, not missing it. There is
nothing left of it! And I feel great!

Even the reality I create with my mom is better! : )

I'm an inner circle girl already and am sure I will see you on
another retreat soon. Most excitingly, I'm taking the telecourses and
I am learning so much about myself. I am behind, of course, on my home work (a learning experience re: resistance in itself!) but I am doing it! It's fabulous.I've made a huge, weight-lifting decision
about selling my house and just this morning I realized while
meditating that I don't value being thin...I value not being fat!
yikes! Working on changing that now.

My best to you and your beautiful wife, and to all the kids at the
office! You guys rock.

Kim

One more:

Hi Bill:

I like the word "percolate" to describe what happened
at the retreat. I had the most amazing experience I
have ever had, and am continuing to use the Holosync
daily. I'm being told many interesting comments from
friends and relatives, mostly that I seem to be more
relaxed and happier.

I'm still not sure how that timeline therapy works,
but I have not been able to get back into those
self-destructive emotions I struggled with for so
long... So yes, I couldn't be happier on how you
helped me... It seems that each time I talk to Dave
we talk about the retreat and laugh and say "wow" a
few times.

Again, thanks so much for bringing me to the retreat.
I'm glad that I was brave enough to just believe my
brother and believe Dr. Bev to be able to just absorb
everything and let whatever happens be ok.....

My next challenge will be to start looking for a job
and seeing if those inferiority issues creep back in.
I don't think they will.....

Dan
