1. Welcome to Issue #114 (May 16, 2003) of MIND CHATTER
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
2. As you may have noticed, the last issue of Mind Chatter was much
smaller, and contained just an article from me, and nothing more. We
will continue with this format, in which the mid-month issue (this
one) is the regular size, and the issue at the beginning of each
month is smaller.
I would love to have your feedback on any parts of Mind Chatter you
especially like or don't like, so I'll know if perhaps it's a good
idea to cut something out or have more of something else. I want Mind
Chatter to give you the greatest benefit possible, but I need your
feedback.

3. Do you want to Unsubscribe?? Gasp!! Please don't! You can manage
your account via the links at the beginning and end of the newsletter.

4. Life Principles Integration Process Telecourse:
On the evening of May 5th, thousands of people called in to listen to
the FREE preview call for my upcoming TeleConference Courses, based
on my new Life Principles Integration Process.
We were overwhelmed by the response. The phone company said it was
the biggest call they'd ever done! They were really scrambling to
find enough phone lines to accommodate everyone who wanted to listen.
In fact, at the last minute, we had to add a second call.
I know quite a few people were turned away, and didn't get to hear
the call. If you were one of them, or just didn't get around to
registering for the call but wish you had, you can still listen to it
online by going to:
http://www.centerpointe.com/life/preview/.
By the way, the day after the call, we were flooded with people
phoning to say how valuable the information I shared on the call was
for them. So, if you're even slightly interested in receiving even
more in-depth help than I can give in Mind Chatter with the process
of looking at each part of your internal map of reality, figuring out
what results it's currently creating in your life, and then making
the changes necessary for you to begin creating exactly what you
WANT--please, go listen to the free call, and if there are still
spots available (there are still some left as I write this), sign up
for the course itself.
Here's one letter we received:
It was a terrific seminar; I learned more about myself--my behaviors,
my trips, than I thought possible in an hour; and, yes, I am
enrolled; anyone who doesn't jump into this -- happily -- with feet
first is (to be as blunt as only I can be) nuts. My years with
Centerpointe and Holosync have been the wildest best years of my
life; I've unearthed so much about myself, overcome more, struggled,
fought, wept, laughed and have congratulated myself over and over for
my courage and honesty to face not only who I am but my very real
fears based on who I might become (am I strong enough for success,
the future, a better life, etc.); I am still seeing a therapist and I
am still taking Zoloft (once a day); I am handling a history of
childhood abuse, teacher abuse, overwhelming angers, feelings of
unworthiness, depressions, manias -- I'm sure the list is familiar to
so many of use in the Centerpointe program; and I am handling it all
-- with kindness, awareness, love and respect; your statement in last
night's seminar that the stuff of our childhood is not our
choice/doing (a statement that removed the dreadful stigma and guilt
I carry of believing that I have somehow chosen my messed up life)
was not only a revelation but a gift of the finest kind; thank you;
if the courses over the next many months are half as fruitful then I
am sure I will be ready to sack Rome and write the Great American
Novel. Bill, I couldn't be more grateful; I feel something like the
Billy Crystal character in "City Slickers" -- he ran off to cow
country to get his smile back; I've stopped running from myself and
wow! there it is -- big as life and just as pretty.
Best, Chris L.
I hope you'll be a part of this. I know you will benefit greatly. --Bill

13. This Issue's Feature Article:
Questions (and Disagreements and Complaints) and Answers
by Bill Harris, Director
I find very often that the best learning takes place when someone
doesn't understand what I've said, and asks me a question about it,
or challenges what I have said, or describes a situation in which
they're sure what I'm saying just can't be applied.
These situations uncover the reason why someone isn't getting what
I'm trying to get across, and allows me to clarify what I mean. When
I publish letters I receive along with my responses, I usually get a
lot of letters back telling me how helpful it was for other to read
the questions and my answers. for that reason, I've decided to share
a few such letters in this issue.
Dear Bill:
I have been using Holysync now for over a year and thoroughly enjoy
it. When I first heard of the program I thought I would NEVER take an
hour a day to meditate; now, I do pretty much every day. I don't do
it "correctly," I'm sure. For example, I do it lying down, rather
than sitting up. I usually do it very early in the morning almost
before I'm awake. But It has been very pleasant. For me it is a
great stress reduction process and relaxation tool.
Am I more conscious than before I started? Maybe I am. I've been
pretty conscious for a long time, I guess, so it's not easy to point
to a dramatic difference. I'm quite in touch with my thoughts,
feelings and what is going on inside. (Sometimes more than I wish I
were!) I do think Holosync has helped though. Thanks for much for a
very effective technology and good customer service.
I'm writing, though, not so much to provide you with another
testimonial, of which you seem to have no end, but to engage you in a
bit of 'philosophical debate' if you are willing to engage. I was
prompted to do so by a comment you made in a reply to another
correspondent, where you said:
People think they must believe whatever the evidence in their life
tells them is true, but if you stop to think about it, everyone has
different evidence, which is why people believe different things
(sometimes totally opposite things) about the same subject. Are they
all true? Yes, they are, to the person who believes them. And since
whatever you believe is true, and will come true in your life, why
not choose beliefs that give you the results you want? I have. It
worked for me. You can do it, too.
My reaction to this is Yes, and No. While it is certainly true that
people's beliefs are a function of the evidence they have available,
and that since everyone has at least slightly difference evidence to
work from (because of different experiences and levels of awareness),
people do hold different beliefs about the same phenomenon. However,
when you say "Are they all true? Yes, they are, to the person who
believes them." you beg the ultimate question: i.e., is there such a
thing as 'absolute' or 'objective' reality/truth? or are their only
relative truths?
This reminds me of the Persian fable of the blind men and the
elephant. I'm sure you know it: each blind man reaching under a tent
touches a different part of the elephant's body and reports a
creature entirely different from his fellow touchers. Your point (I
think): there is no 'elephant,' only the "created" elephants of each
blind man, and each is equally 'true.' My point: No, there really is
such a thing as an elephant, and it is possible to know and describe
it, IF one has enough contact/information (though it may require
collaboration to get at the 'real' elephant given our individual
blindness). In terms of our beliefs, some beliefs will turn out to
be truer, or at least less incorrect, than others, because there is a
reality that these beliefs relate to, and if one can, in your terms,
become conscious enough, one will ultimately know the truth.
This is certainly not a new debate; Plato and Aristotle probably
started it in the Western world. But "new age" philosophy and self
help all to often sounds like pure solipsism: there is nothing but my
personal consciousness and what I believe is real is real and I
create my own reality. This is the stuff of Christian Science and
radical 'faith healing.' While I understand the pedagogical and even
healing point of this perspective, I guess I can't go that far. I'm
afraid I'm a bit like Dr. Samuel Johnson whose reaction to the
'idealism' of the Bishop Berkeley who proved there is no such thing
as matter was to slam his foot against a large stone. The large stone
for me is my belief (and where did this come from?) that there is a
reality and the role of consciousness is to reveal it so we can deal
with it more creatively and effectively. That isn't quite as dramatic
as saying I can create reality, but in the end it! probably leads to
the same end: a life I can live with and perhaps even enjoy.
Sometimes I think I'm just stuck on this point, but without
abandoning thinking and the 'evidence' I have at hand, I really don't
see how to get beyond it. Do you? Or maybe I just don't WANT to get
beyond it, in spite of some of the inconvenience it causes. Because,
you see, in the end, consciousness is wonderful, but love is my
ultimate value, and if there is no 'reality' there is no 'other' and
there would be no one or thing for me to love. That would be a
terrible loss.
Thanks,
Robert
Robert,
I'm looking at this question from a practical point of view, not a
philosophical one. Is there an ultimate reality? Yes. Does that
matter to the person who believes something that is contrary to that
"ultimate" reality? No. Whatever a person believes, for them, is
true. I'm not talking about frivolous beliefs, such as "I believe I'm
going to win the lottery," or "I can change myself into a chestnut
tree," but rather deeply held beliefs about who you are, what your
place is in the world, what is possible for you, and so on.
I'm also not talking about such things as Bishop Berkeley and Samuel
Johnson were referring to: I do not think that if you "believe" a
stone is not hard it will cease to be hard (though I suppose if
someone believed this deeply enough they could create a hallucination
of some sort in which stones were not hard--which goes along with my
point that for the believer, what is believed IS true, regardless of
whether or not it disagrees with any ultimate truth).
Many tribal cultures that believe in magic (such as things like the
ability to turn yourself into a tree), really do create that reality
for themselves. In an ultimate sense are they really becoming a tree?
Personally, I don't think so, but I'm sure I would have an argument
From a tribal medicine man about this, and probably from some Mind
Chatter readers who are into that sort of thing--which goes back to
what I said before: for the believer, anything can be true. The fact
that it is not, in an ultimate sense, "true" doesn't really matter to
the believer. If they really believe it, their experience will be
exactly the same as if it WERE ultimate truth.
Which, other than on a philosophical/intellectual level, makes
"ultimate truth" somewhat irrelevant.
Take the belief "I can do anything," which happens to be one of my
beliefs. Is is 100% true that I can do anything? No, it isn't. I
cannot fly or become invisible or jump from the Earth to the moon in
a single bound. I will never play center in the NBA, or be any taller
than 5'8". But in a practical sense, by believing that I can do
anything am I able to do more than if I didn't believe it?
Absolutely. Much more, in fact. I didn't used to believe I could do
anything, and my achievements were mediocre at best. Now that I
believe it (and I believe it more and more strongly as I
intentionally create more and greater results in my life), it does,
indeed, seem to be true in every case I test it. (Hmmm. Those NBA
guys do make a lot...)
So when I say that what is believed is true for the person who
believes it, you may be right that in an ultimate sense what they
believe may or may not be true. But in terms of the results they get
in their life, for all intents and purposes, it definitely IS true.
My whole purpose is to alert people to the fact that they believe
many things about themselves, about the world, about other people,
about what is possible (and so on). In many (if not most) cases,
people are not even aware they believe these things, because they so
much take them for granted that they never consider whether they are
reasonable or resourceful beliefs (which I think is a much better way
to evaluate what you believe than whether or not it is "true').
These beliefs cause a person to either 1) attract, and be attracted
to, people and situations that allow them to confirm the "trueness"
of what they already believe (as when a woman who believes men are
pigs keeps getting attracted to pigs), 2) cause them to filter the
evidence coming to them so as to interpret what is happening as
confirmation that what they believe really is true, even if it isn't
(as when a person interprets "I can't go out with you tonight" as "I
don't really love you," even if that isn't really what is happening),
or 3) they behave in such a way that they ultimately make what they
believe to be true actually come true (as when a person who thinks
they can never make money makes poor financial decisions and loses
their money, gets into debt, and so on).
So, in short, on the broadest scale, I agree with you. But, as I
said, I'm not talking about whether believing that stones are not
hard will make them soft. I'm talking about the most practical level
of self-esteem, possibility, and other such things.
Further, I am saying that beliefs (such as "I can do anything" or
"People like me") are worth having, because they are resourceful,
because they create results I want. The fact that in a ultimate sense
they may not be true (or might only be true part of the time) is, to
me, irrelevant. I'm after results, and believing these things does
create direct and real results.
For instance, when I have a problem I want to solve, here is my way
of thinking: "Hmmm. I don't know the solution to this problem--yet.
But there is a solution. I just haven't figured it out yet. (If other
people have solved this problem, I might say 'Other people have done
this, so I know it's doable.') What is the answer? How will I find
it? If I keep asking for the answer, and keep looking for it, I know
I will find it." And so on.
I might do this, in some cases, for months before I discover the
answer, or the answer might come in a few seconds. But putting this
idea into my mind causes my mind to search, inside and out, for the
answer. I might come up with an idea, I might overhear a snatch of
conversation that gives me a clue, or a book might jump out at me
when I'm in a bookstore, or it might come in some other way, but in
some way, the information I need comes to me. So far, I have never
failed to come up with an answer using this method.
Again, though, in an ultimate sense, there may well be problems that
are unsolvable for me. But, it a practical sense, I refuse to
entertain that belief, because it does not serve me to believe it.
So I'm really talking about training the mind to create the reality
of what a person wants to create. I know it can be done, because I
have done it, and quite a number of other people have, too.
For those who want to make stones softer, or jump from the Earth to
the moon in a single bound, i will have to create a more advanced
course, as soon as I figure out how to do it myself ("I wonder how I
could do that? I know there is a solution...")
Thanks for you intelligent and well reasoned letter.
Be well.
Bill
A return response:
Bill,
Lovely reply. Much appreciated. You've done a nice job of disarming
my philosophical concerns....and I believe we're very much in
agreement on this stuff. The conversation reminds me of some of the
dialogue in the Don Juan books where Carlos is asking "But did I
REALLY fly?" and Don Juan just looks at him. You're much more
articulate -- and patient -- than Don Juan.
Keep up the good work.
R
Here's another letter, this one from someone who had apparently been
trying to email me without success for a while, and was dissatisfied
with an interaction that had happened with our support staff. I
replied to him twice, trying to get some specifics, before this
letter finally arrived:
Hello Bill,
It would appear that you are a busy man so I thank you for your time
in responding to me although it did take 3 months.
I don't really know what to say at this point. I don't know what
happened to the emails I sent to you. I was told they were forwarded
to you. That is why I did not like it when I didn't hear from you in
3 months when all your literature says how interested you are in
those doing your program.
It really started almost 3 months ago. I'm not really looking for you
to do any thing at this point. I don't know now what can be done but
I will tell you what happened (readers digest version).
I called to order the next level of your program. I was told that I
had not been doing it long enough and basically they tried to talk me
out of it. In your literature it says "we decide when we move to the
next level" so I emailed you. I never got a response but got a
response from Marc saying basically the same thing but that they were
willing to sell me the next level if I choose.
I was told that it would take 4 to 6 weeks to get it. After 7 weeks I
called to see where it was and was told it would be sent the next
week over night delivery. I still didn't get it so had to call again
the next week. This time I spoke with Marc. He said the same thing as
I was told the week before. So I told him so. He also appeared to not
want to be on the phone very long to discuss it so I wrote an email
to him and said either send the discs by the end of the week or give
back my money. When I ordered the discs I was told different things
by different people and when I spoke with them again they gave me a
different story. That is when I decided I did not wish to have any
more to do with your company.
I don't understand why there is a need for this email if you got the
others sent to you and if you did and read them you should already
know this. They gave me this song and dance about 15 years and
100,000 people doing your program and they should know what they are
doing. Yet it appears that the literature says it is designed for the
individuals progress and speed. It is difficult for me to believe
that out of 100,000 people I am the first one that ever wanted to go
to the next level (awakening level one) before the 4 months were up.
In your literature it says that "after 4 months the first level has
no effect any more on the brain" so with the 2 months it took to get
it and the 4 months it says that it may take some to complete if I
had waited to order the next level then it would have been 6 months.
A wasted 2 months in my opinion. No where in any thing sent to me did
it say IT TAKES 2 MONTHS TO GET THE NEXT LEVEL.
The truth is that I do think you have and amazing program. I have no
fault there and I do believe because it is your company that you
truly are concerned. That is why I emailed you (got no response). The
only contact made with your company is with what is called the
support team. This sets the tone for how one views your company. As I
said in one of the other emails I even had to write to get support
letter # 7 sent to me. It says that we will receive a support letter
every two weeks. It says nothing about we have to call or write and
ask for them. Well, there really is much point in going on with this.
As I said earlier I have written all of this to you already. I'm
going to finish awakening level one and two because I have already
paid for it. I am not looking for a refund. I simply want what I paid
for and get it when I am told I will (as I also said to Marc).
I am curious just to see what happens. I have meditated and fasted
for 25 years. A very intense form of meditation so I am curious just
to see what your program does if any thing. Again I wish to thank you
for your time and consideration.
Tony
Tony,
Thanks for explaining what happened. Let me respond.
First of all, the reason that it took a while for you to get
Awakening Level 1 is that we have been so swamped with orders that
our studio got behind. Despite the fact that we keep adding
equipment, the number of people wanting to go on to their next level
went up even faster. We are in the process of moving to an
all-digital studio that will speed things up by about 600%.
Hopefully that will solve the problem and everyone will get their
deeper levels much faster. My goal is to have the wait be ten days,
or less. I'm sorry you had to wait, but we have to record each level
in the order they are placed.
My goal for you is that you get all the benefits this program
offers--which are substantial (in fact, they are beyond any thing you
can imagine, despite your experience with meditation). In order to
get them, however, you must do the program the way it was intended to
be used, which means using each level for the proper amount of time.
The Awakening Prologue directions give four criteria for going to the
next level, one of which is to use it for a minimum of four months.
Even after four months, a person has not completed that level unless
the other three criteria are also met. To go on too soon greatly
diminishes the results, and can create a lot of unnecessary
emotional, mental, physical, and spiritual upheaval. It is like a
runner trying to get in shape faster by increasing his running
distance before he is in shape to deal with it, and damaging his body
in the process. The urge to do so is understandable, but the result
is not what he intends.
It would be very easy for me to just say, "Sure, give me your money.
Go to the next level. No problem. Go as fast as you want." But I am
not doing this for the money. Yes, it is a business, and I do make
money from it, but I know that if I serve the people in the program,
and do it sincerely, the money takes care of itself, so I don't worry
about it, and I certainly don't make decisions about what is good for
you or other participants based on the money part of it.
I am focused on wanting you to get the greatest amount of benefit, in
the shortest time possible (which is probably what you want, too). So
when someone wants to go on to the next level before they have
satisfied the criteria that we know to be necessary (based on A LOT
of people using the program over many years), we advise them to
wait--not to thwart them or slow them down (what reason would I
possibly have for doing that?), but rather to make sure that they do
not sabotage themselves in their hurry to get the results they want.
If someone insists, we let them go on, but that does not mean it is a
good idea.
Many years ago, one person zoomed through the whole program in about
a year, and then told me he didn't get anything out of it. "Duh," I
said. "You didn't do the program I created. You did a program you
made up." To me, this is tragic, since the person who is in a hurry
is suffering in some way, which is why they are in such a hurry. They
usually don't like who they are, and they don't like where they are.
They can see that the program will change that, and they want it to
happen NOW.
These people need what the program will do for them very much, but in
hurrying, they sabotage themselves from getting it. Then, they get to
be right about their underlying belief that "nothing ever works for
me."
I understand your hurry. When I was doing the program, I was in a
huge hurry, too. And, there was no one to advise me or hold me back.
I crashed and burned several times from going too fast or listening
too many hours a day. I ended up taking much longer to get to where I
wanted to be because of it. That's one of the reasons why I can write
the support materials with authority, because I have made pretty much
every stupid mistake in using Holosync.
I don't know how to convince you to take your time with the program,
or how to get you to understand that it already creates a tremendous
acceleration of growth. I also don't know how to get across the fact
that the 8-10 years it might take to go through the whole program
might seem like forever if you are unhappy and not liking who you are
right now, but the time will pass (as it did for me), and there will
be A LOT of time after that for you to live the life you want.
Actually, most people are pretty happy and peaceful by the time they
finish with Purification Level 1 or 2, and the rest of the program is
just an increase and refinement of that contentment. But if you rush
through the program, you may never get to the point where you are
happy, peaceful, and successfully creating what you want in the
world. I don't want that to happen, and you probably don't want it,
either.
So when the people on the support staff give you advice, it's because
they want you to succeed.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
14. Glowing Testimonials and Letters
I am ready to move forward. I am continuing to have an overall
positive result and notice that once things start improving a great
deal one often does not realize the dramatic changes that have
occurred. I am still a bit up and down on the diet, work is going
very well, family relationships get better and better, starting to
feel strong urges about creating some new seminars and classes to
move students into Holosync and spiritual growth. Finding people are
very hungry for this kind of experience, most still balk because of
the money, but some are starting to seriously consider a deep
commitment to the meditative process. I have completed the Life
Balances blood work and have received the data but have not yet
consulted to get the health program in place. Will do so in the next
couple of days.
Thank Bill again for this work. It is truly a gift of a lifetime. .

Dear Bill and Centerpointe Family,
Namaste and shalom to you! Holosync ROCKS!!!!!!!!!! In the past
month I've been sleeping better, feeling more whole, really learning
about resistance, and starting to become more aware of when I'm doing
it. I'm really much more at peace--shalom in Hebrew actually means
"wholeness."
I've begun doing affirmations as i meditate. I WILL write those
mysteries and spiritual books! I am toning up and losing my extra
weight! I am confident and no longer afraid!
JOY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I've also begun training to run the 26.2 mile Chicago Marathon to
raise money for the AIDS Foundation of Chicago. How cool is that
From somewhat who would NEVER have done that before. Praise the
Buddhas of the Ten Directions!
Well, this Jewish-Buddhist-Sufi (B'Jewfi) is most gracious to you. I
look forward soaring to new heights of oneness and dancing with the
Light.
Light and love,
Yossi L.

Dear Bill & the Centrepointe Team,
My name is Bruce, and I have been a participant of the Holosync program
now for just over 4 months now "Rough guess"
Anyhow I want to send my deepest heart felt thanks, as this program is
totally changing my entire life, for the better.
Now I can actually handle what life throws my way--stress, fear,
negativity, etc., are all being banished to the universal garbage can.
I am eagerly awaiting the next level, and can see myself continuing
the entire program.
Wow what really cool trip !
God bless you all :-)
Regards
Bruce R.

[The telephone support coaches make sure I see any letters like these.]
Sir, my name is Maher K. I can not tell you how pleased I am with
your program. I thank you full-heartedly.
I would like to make special mention of your support team I have
spoken to two of them, the first was Eric, the second Heather. Both
are equally fantastic. I am a psychologist by profession, I have to
say that both are exceptional. I hope in any future decisions whether
in promotions or otherwise both those individuals will also be
considered in the light of what has been said.
This statement may be made public.
Light be with you. Maher.

15. Book Review
Bringing Out the Best in Others! 3 Keys for Business Leaders,
Educators, Coaches and Parents by Thomas K. Connellan

One of my core beliefs is that we all want to do better. I have a
little trepidation in saying that, as I am a rather died-in-the-wool
fan of the fact that it is our BEING that counts more than our DOING,
but there is no question in my mind that performance is critical. Not
only does what we DO matter a great deal in the grand scheme of
things, how we interact with other people is also part of the core of
our life satisfaction.
I don't know about you, but a great deal of my day is spent listening
to people complain about how badly they are treated by others, or
about how others aren't doing their job, their part, pulling their
load, etc., etc. Certainly this is a common malady at work, and
probably equally as common in our family and social relationships.
As Bill often says, complaining about what people do or don't do,
puts us in the role of being a victim, and robs us of our power. We
give over to our family, friends or co-workers the power to make us
angry or sad. It seems on the surface that there is little we can do
about that state of affairs.
Enter Dr. Thomas Connellan who suggests, "OK, rather than be a
victim, what if there were some things you could do, some
circumstances you could design which would bring out the best in
others?
Bringing out the best in others (our employees, friends, relations,
children) means creating a space where we are crystal clear on what
we expect, making someone accountable, and providing helpful
feedback. It's that simple.
Sort of.
Dr. Tom Connellan has done exhaustive research on the dynamic of high
performance: how to get it and how to keep it. His research uncovered
some amazing facts:
"Two-thirds of all entrepreneurs are firstborn. Twenty-one of the
twenty-three first astronauts were firstborn. Of the female world
leaders between 1960 and 1999, 45% were firstborn. A ten-year study
of 1,500 superior Wisconsin ninth-graders showed that 49 percent of
them were firstborn. And according to an 1874 study in England,
firstborns were over-represented among fellows of the Royal Society.
Even psychologists studying other psychologists found similar
results: more than half the people elected president of the American
Psychological Association were firstborns! And yet only about 1/3 of
the population is firstborn. "What", Connellan wondered, "is it that
firstborns get that later-borns usually don't?"
His research uncovered three environmental factors that make the
difference. If you are in a leadership position--executive, teacher,
parent, coach, music teacher--the most important thing about these
three factors is their environmental nature. They are not something
internal to the individual. This means that, given the proper skill
set, you can use the three factors to create an environment that
consistently brings out the best in employees, students, children, or
team members.
These three keys unlock peak performance in the people you live and
work with. They enable business leaders, coaches, educators, parents,
and others to consistently get that extra 10 to 20 percent needed to
make a significant difference in profitability, performance,
teamwork, and grades. They have been proven to work, time after time.
Using the three factors, business leaders have improved sales and
increased productivity, parents have boosted grade point averages,
and educators have improved the performance of entire classes, as
well as that of individual students who needed an extra boost. Music
teachers have jump- started their students efforts. Coaches of youth
sports have shortened learning curves, improved performance, and
improved teamwork--without the stress that frequently accompanies
those efforts." (From the publisher)
This is an amazing book not only in that it offers great insight and
skill building in working with others, but also in that it offers a
model for looking and enhancing one's own performance issues. It's
very helpful for me to be clear on my expectations with myself, to
create a system of accountability for myself, and to provide
structured feedback for myself as I progress through my journey of
self-development.
This book is a fantastic little investment for anyone who has the
privilege of managing other people, coaching sports (at any age), or
just wants to learn more about doing what it takes to "be all you can
be."
Special thanks to Dr. Connellan for the gift of these books for the
entire Centerpointe staff. It is already making a difference.

16. Important Announcements (and I do mean important):
1. We have changed the name of the Centerpointe program from The End
Personal growth through Technology to The Holosync Solution. Same
program--though we are always making improvements, and I'll have some
important ones to announce soon--just a different name.
Because we have so much literature with the old name, and because
tossing them would be expensive and I don't want to have to pass such
costs on to you, it is possible that those of you in the program may
get literature for a while with the old name on it.
2. My new book, Thresholds of the Mind, is back from the printer, and
I'd like to you to own a copy and read it. I have found that those
who read the book have some tremendous "ah ha's" about their life and
how they can do something to make it one of happiness, inner peace,
and success.
Here are some comments about Thresholds of the Mind from some
prominent personal growth leaders:
"In Thresholds of the Mind, Bill Harris offers a creative and
practical new twist on why we suffer, and how, despite our
resistance, we can attain deep happiness and inner peace, regardless
of our past or present conditions. Thresholds of the Mind will
benefit anyone interested in creating dramatic and powerful positive
change."
Jack Canfield , Co-author of the #1 New York Times best-selling
Chicken Soup for the Soul series.
**
"In this remarkable post-modern work, transcendence and technology
are joined in unique and potent ways. There is much to ponder here
as we advance our understanding of the inherent genius of our
mind-body systems and the new ways to tap the potential within us
all. Harris brings together hitherto divided and distinguished
worlds-science and consciousness-to enable the evolution of our
species in these most challenging of times."
Jean Houston Ph.D
Author of 17 books including Jump Time, protege of anthropologist
Margaret mead, co-seminar leader with mythologist Joseph Campbell,
past-president of the Association of Humanistic Psychology,
co-director of the Foundation for Mind Research
**
"For many years Kathlyn and I have taught that the central problem
human beings face is what we call the Upper Limits problem-the
tendency to settle below the threshold of what is possible to
achieve. Bill Harris not only understands this problem, he has
created an ingenious technology for breaking through it, With the
remarkable Holosync audio technology developed at Centerpointe
Research Institute, all of us can now learn to live at a new and
higher level of functioning. Do yourself a huge favor by reading
Thresholds of the Mind and working with Holosync audio technology.
Gay Hendricks, Ph.D. author of CONSCIOUS LIVING and co-author (with
Dr. Kathlyn Hendricks ) of CONSCIOUS LOVING President, The Hendricks
Institute

"Bill Harris comes from deep personal experience with healing and
consciousness. Thresholds of the Mind is truly inspiring and filled
with profound wisdom. Holosync is the perfect addition to other
growth and spiritual processes."
Margaret Paul, Ph.D. author/coauthor of Do I Have To Give Up Me To Be
Loved By You?, Healing Your Aloneness, Inner Bonding, and Do I Have
To Give Up Me To Be Loved By God?
**
"With a loving heart, Bill Harris guides us to the thresholds of the
mind. This remarkable book is not only a profound tool for healing.
It is also an invitation to explore the mystical interface between
technology and the soul."
Daphne Rose Kingma , author of The Future of Love, Heart & Soul, and
Coming Apart

NOT!
That is, not if you sign up for the next Centerpointe retreat. Our
upcoming retreat will be at Breitenbush Hot Springs in Oregon in July
of 2003!
We filled the last two US retreats without even sending out a
promotional letter, so if you have a big issue you'd like to
eliminate, or just want to take your growth to the next level, don't
wait--call Centerpointe and sign up today, even though July might
seem to be a long way off. Otherwise, you may find this retreat sold
out and you'll be out of luck! Don't delay--I promise, the
Breitenbush retreat will fill up fast.
What if it doesn't work for you?
No problem. We GUARANTEE results!
If, at the end of the retreat, you don't think it was 'as
advertised'--and more --we'll refund your money!
You do not need to be a program participant to attend (though most
people who attend are). (And if you're not a program participant, why
the heck aren't you? Quit procrastinating and join.)
