I thought I would share a couple of letters I have received lately,
and my responses to to them, in the hopes that they will be helpful
to you.
This first one is in response to my message about the Iraqi war:
Dear Bill
I have just gone through a very low period and was fluctuating
between anxiety, anger and crying all the time. Your little letter
that came with the recent mail out entitled " What's going on in the
world" helped put things in perspective for me. I knew I was reacting
to every little thing but just seemed out of control. I know I will
still struggle but I feel better the last few days. Thanks.
Sandra S.
Sandra,
I'm glad it was helpful to you.
Remember that being stressed has more to do with your threshold being
too low for your environment than your actual circumstances. If your
threshold is high enough, it won't matter what happens around you.
Luckily, Holosync will, over time, raise your threshold so high very
little will be able to bother you. I wish we had a way to make this
happen in two weeks, but unfortunately, it takes time for this change
to happen. You will get there, though, I promise. I used to be
overwhelmed by everything, and now pretty much nothing can bother me.
You can get there, too.
Also remember that even if you are over your threshold, you don't
need to be in resistance to what is happening. If what is happening
is beyond your control (which world events certainly are), then
resisting it or worrying about it really serves no purpose. And, as I
said, far-away events really don't effect us very much, anyway.
One good thing to do is to write down all the things that are
overwhelming you. Just making such a list often puts things in
perspective, and it also makes you realize that it is a finite number
of things that are bothering you, not an infinite number of things.
When they are all swirling around in your head, they seem to be
bigger and more numerous than they look once you write them down. As
soon as you make the list, you'll probably eliminate several right
away as being not that big a deal.
With the others, in each case think of the worst that could happen.
You'll probably realize right away that the chances off the worst
happening is not very much. Still, imagine the worst happening, and
imagine yourself dealing with it and getting through it. Do it
several times, until thinking about it has no emotional impact on
you. Finally, reconcile yourself to the fact that "the worst" COULD
happen--though not likely, it is possible. Then, realize that even if
it happens, you'll be okay. You've had many things happen in your
life, and you'll make it through whatever else happens, too.
And sometimes, "bad" things that happen turn out to open new doors,
and end up being blessings in disguise. If you think back on
"negative" things that have happened to you in the past, you'll
probably realize that they were positive turning points in your life,
though they may not have seemed so at the time.
Then, once you've reconciled yourself that the worst could happen, do
whatever you can to make things better. If there's nothing you can
do, then forget about it and go do something fun.
You're going to be fine. Keep on with the program, and as you
continue, let me know if I can help in any way.
Be well.

"You can, instead, DECIDE what beliefs, values, decisions,
strategies, and so on, will give you the experience of life you want,
and by adopting them, create the results you want."
This is from the latest issue of the newsletter from Bill. I've been
using HoloSync for a year and was practicing TM for many years before
that. I don't understand how anyone can CHOOSE their BELIEFS. I can
see how we choose our behavior even how we respond to our
environment, but beliefs are so ingrained that they seem to be
hard-wired.
Can someone please enlighten me on this? Thank you.
Dan
Dan,
What you're really noticing is that beliefs are unconscious. This is
why they operate to create your experience and results in your life
automatically, outside your awareness--and why it seems as if things
"just happen," resulting from outside circumstances.
The whole idea of using Holosync is to make what has been operating
unconsciously, outside your awareness, conscious. This is what
happens as you meditate, especially with Holosync: you become more
consciously aware of how you create your life.
The other way to become more conscious of your beliefs (and the other
parts of your internal map of reality) is to examine them closely. To
help you do this, I'm in the process of creating a new program,
called The Life Principles Integration Process, part of which will
focus on beliefs (that part will be called The Resourceful Belief
Builder).
So, yes, you CAN choose your beliefs, just like you choose your shirt
in the morning. In fact, if you are conscious of what you believe,
and can see the step by step process of how your beliefs (along with
other parts of your internal map of reality) lead to the results and
experience of life you have, the beliefs that do not serve you will
automatically fall away and be replaced by more resourceful beliefs,
even without your consciously choosing to do so. You can, though,
decide what to believe.
People think they must believe whatever the evidence in their life
tells them is true, but if you stop to think about it, everyone has
different evidence, which is why people believe different things
(sometimes totally opposite things) about the same subject. Are they
all true? Yes, they are, to the person who believes them. And since
whatever you believe is true, and will come true in your life, why
not choose beliefs that give you the results you want? I have. It
worked for me. You can do it, too.
The whole key to this is becoming more conscious. As long as your
beliefs operate unconsciously, it will seem just as it now seems to
you: as if it's all so deeply ingrained that you have no control over
it.
The only way you're going to really get this is to go through the
process of becoming more conscious. The best and fastest way I know
to do that is to meditate daily with Holosync. You can speed things
up by going inside and examining the parts of your internal map of
reality, and that's the reason for my Mind Chatter articles; my book,
Thresholds of the Mind; and the new Life Principles Integration
Process, which will be available to you very soon.
Hope this helps.
Be well.
